Lusíadas Saúde Digital Assistant Wins European Healthcare Innovation Award
Lusíadas Saúde Group has been honored at the European Private Hospital Awards in the Innovation in Healthcare category—a recognition following the launch and implementation of Lusi, the world's first voice assistant for appointment scheduling.
The European Private Hospital Awards aim to reward best practices and initiatives across the European private hospital sector. In its second edition, held in Lisbon, Lusíadas Saúde's digital assistant emerged as one of the winning projects, taking home the Innovation in Healthcare award.
Co-developed in partnership with Portuguese tech company AgentifAI and launched by Lusíadas Saúde Group at the end of 2021, Lusi represented a major step forward in the digitalization of healthcare both in Portugal and globally. Operating via voice and text, it became the first virtual assistant designed for appointment management, focused on improving accessibility and delivering a zero-wait-time customer experience.
Today, this AI-driven solution—powered by Natural Language Understanding (NLU) to enable natural, empathetic communication—has interacted with approximately two million people, allowing them to seamlessly book appointments and retrieve health service information.

Digitalization remains a central mission for Lusíadas Saúde Group as it seeks to personalize and elevate patient relationships. The digital assistant Lusi joins an expanded ecosystem of communication channels available to patients, including the Group's central Contact Center, the +Lusíadas app, social media platforms, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger.
